FREDRIK TORISSON
I am a researcher, author and architect based in Sweden. My latest publication is a book in Swedish, Malmhattanism (2021), which I am hoping to be able to publish in English eventually. Currently, I am a post-doctoral researcher at Malmö University, where I am investigating the roles of smart technologies in Swedish housing. I am also an Associate senior lecturer at the architecture school at Lund University (currently on leave of absence). I have taught extensively on all levels in the architectural education at schools in Sweden and elsewhere, and I regularly lecture in different contexts. Prior to my current position, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Royal Danish Academy of Architecture in Copenhagen and at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. In 2017, I defended my PhD-thesis in architectural theory: Utopology: A Re-interrogation of the Utopian in Architecture (Lund University). Prior to research studies, I was based in Berlin, where I worked in the fields of architecture and landscape architecture in various constellations and published the book Berlin – Matter of Memory in 2010. Before this, I was based in London for several years working as an architectural assistant at various architectural practices.

For current research project and research interests, see under the tab Research.
I also have a blog where I post shorter texts sporadically.
